Maya Doolub

Founder & CEO

Founder & CEO, Maya Doolub started elms consulting ten years ago and has led a number and range of projects, working with organisations across public, non profit and private sectors to drive change from policy through to implementation, with a key focus on sustainable development, and in particular, climate change. Before the arrival of elms, Maya had worked for a number of large organisations, including the National Health Service, Ernst & Young and a number of leading newspaper titles.

Maya’s approach is to demonstrate that there can be no more business as usual, and that the private sector can and should play a key role in the implementation of development programmes, leading to the scaling of sustainable solutions. Maya’s work brings together key figures in sustainability, including Government leaders, philanthropists and a number of high profile industry leaders.

Maya’s passion for entrepreneurism is underpinned by development of projects and solutions for islands, working with local start ups committed to demonstrating the full breadth and depth of natural resources; she is also the Director of an energy start up in Saint Lucia.

Working with governments to demonstrate will and commitment through policy, Maya aligns partners and work programmes to connect vision with execution of low carbon development pathways, identifying the commercial opportunities these present to stimulate the market and catalyse the flow of private capital to support implementation of projects which drive local capacity building and job creation- and bringing together the stakeholders that can make this happen.

Maya lives in London and is mother to six children and also a grandmother.

Serena graduated in Law and currently works also for leading UK law firm, Slater & Gordon. Prior to her current work, Serena worked at The Holly, a private healthcare provider based in Essex.

Serena’s passion for entrepreneurship is well demonstrated by the leading role she has played in the start up of an organic baby food company.

As part of an all female team at elms, Serena’s key focus is the development of education, job and business opportunities for women and young girls through the deployment of sustainable solutions in energy and agriculture.

With a global network that comprises top tier expertise across a broad range of areas, elms is able to team up with other firms and individuals to build delivery teams that also bring technical, financial and governance knowledge and skill sets to what we do. We bring together global expertise together with local talent to drive the creation of jobs and business opportunities. We are proud to be part of a global group of experts driven to make a difference and committed to taking climate action now.

elms continues to push forward with other firms to drive new technologies to market and accelerate the deployment of innovation and natural resources. We partner also with key players in the renewables field to convene events, including the Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum- the largest renewables event in the region.

Success is built through our extensive network and the partnerships that we have built over the last eight years.

It’s by bringing together organisations and people across a number of sectors that we are able to build frameworks for sustainable implementation of projects.

The BIG issues are ones that we should all be talking about together. And they are the issues we can build solutions for together

Global Island Partnership

Led by the Presidents of Palau and Seychelles, Prime Minister of Grenada and Premier of the British Virgin Islands, GLISPA’s mission is to promote action to build resilient and sustainable island communities by inspiring leadership, catalyzing commitments and facilitating collaboration for all islands.
